ADS 2: Cannon Street Station, City of London

    LondON AIR

Digital platforms like YouTube and MySpace have made celebrities out of individuals like you and me. The UK's 2012 digital switchover will free up hundreds of new Television channels but how will we ensure that user-generated content continues to paint a democratic face on the UK's screen industry? This proposal examines whether the City of London, like the Internet, can support and enhance the production and distribution of mass-controlled media. The strategic confluence of transportation, accommodation and communication facilities, manifests in a nodal media interchange, empowering individuals to broadcast their presence and experience in the Square Mile. The everyday becomes entertaining; the local, global.
