  • Mette Klarskov Larsen’s Statement

The inspiration for my work comes from a continuous research into lived experiences uncovering and discovering new layers of human complexity.

The material, scale and form of the piece are determined by the particular qualities behind the idea, which to me is the key aspect since I not only see my pieces as being functional but also as a medium for critical exploration and analysis - a visual form for communication.

I wish to challenge the perception of today’s jewellery, exploring how I as a visual communicator can be part of a political, environmental and social debate.
