  • Biography

My research explores the blurred boundaries between design and craft practice. I am the second student in the AHRC funded 'Modern Craft: History, Theory and Practice' collaborative RCA/V&A studentship. A graduate of the University of Brighton MA in design history and material culture. My dissertation focused on women furniture designers in post-war Italy and sparked an interest in uncovering ‘other’ histories. I received my BA in Italian and Design from UCL and the Politecnico di Milano. I currently lecture on design history and criticism at the University of Brighton, where I am also able to continue and develop my interest in contemporary practice.

At the V&A I am assisting in research for the forthcoming Postmodernism: Style and Subversion 1970–1990 and previously worked on Cold War Modern: Design 1945–1970. In 2007 I worked on MoMA’s Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition.
