The work exhibited is the result of a
collaborative doctoral award between the Royal College of Art and the
Victoria and Albert Museum.
My research explores the
interdisciplinary practice of screenprint production within the applied
arts, specifically in the ceramic medium.
This practice-based
enquiry has involved the development of a new system for integrating
the printed image and ceramic form for the studio practitioner.
This
knowledge has been combined with historical research involving an
investigation into the complex, social configurations of screenprint
production, in order to determine the importance of the role of
‘Interpretative Mediation’ within these configurations.
