My work is performance based, using a combination of photography and film. I believe my body art has become more about the abject body over time through personal life experience. The work is an exploration and realisation of the fallible nature of the human form.
The most recent works are audiovisual performances inspired by the tragedy of loss and the ways that the physical body can fail us. They are about overcoming adversity. I believe they emanate strength, resilience, vitality and the power to overcome social stigma.
I also explore the nature of bodily movement by placing myself in an underwater environment. The work is a realisation of how water supports, restricts and physically challenges my body.
