ADS2: Big Crunch!
My work looks at the strategic architecture of the everyday. Constantly shifting value systems provide a molten currency for observing our cities. My projects at the RCA explore the urban as a miraculous mechanism of self-creation, plugging into infrastructures, appropriating and re-appropriating them. It is the transitional and diverse nature of a city that presents us with a daily flip-book of programmes that can use architecture to facilitate it. Architecture becomes a narrative for human behaviour, the positioning of a park bench revealing as much as the size of an airport.
