My jewellery has become a means of exploring surroundings and attempts to symbolise an identity with one’s environment, by drawing the outside in and, quite literally, wearing part of it. My daily commute into London takes me past numerous factories and industrial estates, which have directly influenced my work. I feel that concrete has become central to the exploration and development of my jewellery pieces, reflecting something of the built environment. Initially I took photos of these places, which then led to placing objects in particular locations and documenting them through photography.
