Core concerns within my practice stem from an interest in how the city and the urban environment continually develops, shifts and evolves; how we inhabit our cities and the space around us; and how architecture forms and shapes the city. Urban planning, redevelopment, gentrification, immigration and relocation act as a platform for a wider social and political discussion, which questions the inevitable effect of this on culture and sub-cultures. I respond to this with abstract installations and works that deal with space, light and form, drawing the viewer into a complex visual labyrinth. My intention being that the work should reflect the rhythm, vibrancy and soul of the city.
