It is said that romantic art is an expression of a secret urge towards chaos; that endless force which cannot be described by the rational. Chaos theory, however, states that both romantic chaos and rational systems or patterns derive from the same simple starting point.

Through video and performance, etching, screenprinting and text, I am exploring this dilemma: the impossibility of uniting the desire to strive for the incomprehensible, plentiful whole and the compulsion to make sense of even that through logical and rational faculties. Supported by an interdisciplinary approach, my work adds to an open-ended philosophical quest to understand our essence as aesthetic beings.
