Out of every aspect of our lives, food and water have the most profound impact on the way individuals and wider society are shaped. As a medium for design, the process of preparing and eating is interactive: growing food can give a great sense of satisfaction; eating it engages all our senses; it can make or break social occasions; it is critical to our health, and its production and preparation shapes our landscape, architecture, interiors, tools and more. Unfortunately, food and its production are perhaps our biggest environmental challenges, starting with the transition to a post-oil economy.
