We have a number of interfaces for manipulating sound. They are largely arbitrary and abstract, and rely on prior knowledge and linguistic interpretation to explain the power behind the interface. Can we make more open interfaces that use tacit understanding of physicality to make more intuitive interactions?

My project explores novel morphologies for the visualisation and manipulation of sound, focusing on a bi-directional interface between sound and form, and how interaction on the physical side of the interface can allow for perceivable and controllable manipulations of the sound in real time.
