This project addresses some of the difficulties regarding the delivery of vaccines in areas where there are no fridges to keep the vaccines at between 2°C and 8°C and no permanent health facilities.
Evidence has been gathered through research in London and a field trip to India, to trace the vaccine delivery process from manufacturers to the children at vaccination points in a sample of rural areas.
The design outcome is a more effective and more user-friendly vaccine carrier, which should help local health authorities and NGOs reduce vaccine wastage and increase the number of children vaccinated.
