Animal skins are said to embody both life and death. When features such as eyes are still present on animal skins, we are somehow reminded of the connection they have with life, yet we often prefer to distance ourselves from this reality.

Using the eye as inspiration, I use drawing techniques to develop an experimental approach to stitch. With an emphasis on surface and colour, I combine unexpected materials including animal skins, hair, metal and plastic to create contemporary textile pieces.
