    Michaela Crimmin is an independent curator and producer, and tutor in the Curating Contemporary Art programme, running a course on commissioning art for the public domain.

    She brings extensive experience of commissioning, which has included coordinating the Fourth Plinth series in Trafalgar Square, and directing the Arts & Ecology Centre for the RSA and Arts Council England.

    She is currently developing a new enquiry into the relationship between culture, conflict and conflict resolution. She is curating a new commission to spearhead a major programme for the city of Peterborough.

    She lectures nationally and internationally, most recently at the HotHouse Conference in Sydney, Australia.


    Biography

    Michaela Crimmin was Head of Arts at the RSA from 1997 to March 2010, a role that included initiating and directing the RSA Arts & Ecology Centre. This five-year programme supported, promoted and debated artists’ responses to current environmental challenges.
