  • In a world of consumption, where lies time for attachment? Natural processes have their own pace. They are now brought at home, domesticated, digested. My project is about this deterritorialisation.

I developed a way to build nacre, the material pearls are made of. With the help of scientists, I was able to combine ceramic and polymer to obtain this bio-composite. The particularity of nacre is its huge toughness (it is nearly 1,000 times tougher than ceramic), and of course its beauty. Suddenly, nacre is not limited to pearls, it comes out of its shell in an explosion of shapes.
