‘Grip’ is a physiotherapy tool designed to help doctors and patients. ‘Grip’ provides a quantitative assessment of the capabilities of the patient’s hand, which are shown on a graphic display. It measures the movement range of the wrist and fingers, and the strength of the fingers. Through the graphic visualisation, both doctors and patients can see directly the range of movements executed during each session, check the progress over time, and compare the results to the objectives they both set for the sessions. This provides a more reliable basis for diagnostic and follow-ups than the current methods used, which rely on the doctor’s experience and judgement.
