AI executive education course for University of Europe, Germany

Custom executive education AI course for postgraduate level students at the University of Europe, Germany.

Overview

We delivered a custom hybrid online/offline 9-week short course 'Designing Services and Products with Artificial Intelligence (AI)' for Edology and the University of Europe, Germany.

The course was developed by Dr Laura Ferrarello MRes Design Pathway Leader and offered as part of postgraduate degree programmes at UE.

RCA alumni and course tutors included Iulia Ionescu (Innovation Design Engineering MA), Sabrina Recoules Quang (PhD candidate Smart Textile Soft System) and Alexandra Matz (MRes Design).

Course structure

Promoting the future-oriented development of skills and interdisciplinary teaching formats.

The course blended theoretical and practical units that taught students how to deploy AI for fostering innovation through creativity, pursuing career ambitions and, most importantly, for developing a responsible, inclusive, accessible and sustainable strategy to AI innovation through design.

Key aspects of the course:

  • how to strategically use AI
  • forge a creative collaboration between people and AI
  • design methods and strategies for AI
  • storytelling through data and AI.
  • the limitations and unintended circumstances AI
  • AI ecosystems for service and product development.
  • AI ethics issues and challenges in services and products.
  • experience multi and interdisciplinary collaboration in teams
  • learn how to strategically use AI in your profession and discipline.

Outcomes

The course gave UE students a strategic and applied understanding of the design principles supporting human-to-human-to-AI interactions.

The course outcomes will be used to generate AI ecosystems that lead to the development of AI products and services.
