Guy is Design Manager at a new start-up car company, Elemental Motor Company ltd, based in Hampshire. He also works as a freelance Vehicle, Industrial and 3D CAD consultant.
Having graduated from the RCA Vehicle Design programme in 1994, Guy worked initially as an Industrial Designer and then as a 3D CAD designer at GM Opel in Ruesselsheim, Germany, working on the Opel Astra, Zafira and Omega car programmes in the mid-1990s. A brief spell in BMW followed before he moved to Daewoo’s UK technical centre, working as a production and concept designer on various car and commercial vehicle programmes including the Matiz, Nubira, Lanos and LDV Maxus van. He was lead exterior designer of the Daewoo Mirae concept car, shown at the 1999 Seoul motor show. Moving to engineering consultancy TWR in 2001 he was part of the design team for the Autocar 3PV concept car project, HSV VY programme as well as working on Train interior design. He spent 11 years at Ford Motor Company as a Senior Designer, working on the Ford Focus Fiesta and Transit programmes, TeamRS special vehicles, the Ford Cross-Car programme as well as a period of secondment to Pininfarina as Lead Designer on the Focus Coupe-Cabrio programme from 2003–6.
Guy co-founded the Elemental Motor Company in 2012, designing and developing the RP1 lightweight sports-car. He was a Visiting Lecturer teaching 3D CAD in Vehicle Design at the RCA from 2009–2013 before becoming the Urban Flow pathway Tutor in 2014.
