An innovative new type of floor covering.
Louie Rigano and Gil Muller developed Shore Rugs while on the Design Products MA programme at the Royal College of Art. Shore Rugs are a new type of floor covering: a versatile rug that is hand-woven from a custom-developed silicone sponge cord. The rugs distinguish themselves from other floor coverings in numerous ways; they are soft and extremely comfortable, easy to clean, durable, UV resistant, and waterproof, and thus perfectly suitable for use outdoors.
Working directly with a silicone manufacturer, the cord has been custom developed to have a specific density and texture, perfected for its new application as a floor covering. Shore apply their knowledge of materials and processes to create products that feature a bold, new visual impact and are also innovative and forward thinking.
