Celia is an artist and has been mending clothing since 2007. She works with a broad spectrum of damage, from clothes of individuals to textiles in museum archives.
As an Associate Lecturer, Celia works closely with MA Textiles students, and teaches across the programme, graduate exhibition and the RCA Grand Challenge.
Her work has recently been exhibited in Bags, Hweg, Cornwall (2024), Cheongju Craft Biennale, Korea (2023), and Connect. Reveal. Conceal., Hauser & Wirth, London, (2023).
She published her first book, On Mending: stories of damage and repair, with Quickthorn (2022).
She was awarded NOW Gallery: Fashion Commission 2024, which she used to teach a whole primary school community in Southwark how to repair socks using a woven darn.
