Festus is an annual happening, one of the most significant in our Sculpture MA. It takes the form of a series of tutor led offsite collaborative projects, developed between our programme and a host of external partners.

Students have an opportunity to meet and work in small groups with curators, artists, activists, and archivists to learn skills, make connections, to make work, think and reflect. Projects may involve throwing clay, navigating along a towpath to a secret garden, make a speech, read out love letters in a museum or workout for peak fitness. Workshop activity takes place in Mid November and informs our Festival of Festus one month later. The Festival of Festus is our closing exhibition where we come together in the production of new knowledge, gathering the dynamic range of approaches that our cohorts bring to sculpture in the 21st century.

Festus has established ongoing partnerships with Gerry's Pompeii, Flat Time House, Standpoint gallery, The National Trust, The Old Operating Theatre, Merz Barn, Freud Museum, South London Gallery and Fillet amongst others.

Private View: 6–8pm, Wednesday 11 December (RSVP via eventbrite)
