Gloria Cabral (São Paulo, 1982), is a Paraguayan architect, was partner of the architecture studio Gabinete de Arquitectura for 17 years.

At the age of six, she settled with her family in Asunción, Paraguay. She studied architecture at La Universidad Nacional de Asunción. Before finishing university, in 2003, Cabral joined el Gabinete de Arquitectura. At that time one of the partners withdrew and Cabral, along with other fellows, formed a group that became one more partner of the study. Since 2004 she has been a member of el Gabinete that she directed together with Solano Benítez.

Gloria currently resides and develops her professional activity in Brazil.

In 2014 Cabral was chosen by the Swiss Peter Zumthor as his disciple among professionals from around the world in the framework of the 2014-2015 Rolex Artistic Initiative program. This appointment arose as a result of a search carried out by the Swiss firm among young talents from all over the world. She was chosen from four shortlisted architects. During that year she traveled several times to Switzerland and worked with Zumthor on a tea house project.

She was responsible for the Teletón Children's Rehabilitation Center project that in 2010 won first prize at the Pan American Biennial in the Rehabilitation and Recycling category.

In 2016, together with her partners, she obtained the Golden Lion of the Venice Architecture Biennale, for the Best Participation in the International Exhibition.

In 2018 she was awarded the Moira Gemmill Prize, awarded by The Architectural Review and The Architects' Journal.

She obtained the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture 2021, organized by the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine (France).

RCA students and staff are warmly invited to join the lecture.

Event organised by ADS6, School of Architecture.
