The MA Interior Design Inside/Out Lecture Series is proud to present the second lecture of the new year with guest speaker Shajay Bhooshan on 20 February 2025.

Join Shajay Bhooshan as he discusses the gestation and maturation of computer aided design-to-construction practices. The talk draws from experiments and projects from his work as Associate Director at Zaha Hadid Architects, where he co-founded and heads the Computation and Design research group (ZHACODE). Shajay’s work aims to reconnect with historic wisdoms and positively steer our urban future by changing how we design and build, and engaging citizens on what gets built, when and where. The former involves democratising the rapidly emerging advances in digital design and robotic manufacturing. Achieving the latter involves learning from engaging, user and user-experience focussed technologies of video games and 3D content creation.

Alongside his work at ZHACODE, Shajay is also an alumnus and a studio-master at the post-graduate course of Design Research Laboratory at the Architectural Association, London (AADRL, 2006). There he explores the intersection of computational geometry, video game technology, urban development, and industrialised construction.

Inside/Out is a student-led curation of in-person lectures featuring esteemed leaders of the design industry. The series dissects and critically discusses the technologies that are reshaping the field today and in the future.
