You're invited to join the world's number 1 art and design university at Munich Jewellery week!
You’re invited to meet Dr Katharina Vones (Senior Tutor Research - Jewellery & Metal MA) and Mah Rana (Tutor Arts & Humanities MFA and Jewellery & Metal MA) as well as current students and RCA alumni at the Munich Jewellery week 2025.
The Jewellery and Metal programme at the Royal College of Art promotes a multi-material, multi-modal approach to material-led practice and thinking. Showcasing their creations at Munich Jewellery Week for the third year running, our MA students and recent alumni will take the stage at the Lost Weekend Cafe once again to present publications, video performances and discussion panels.
Narratives on the essential questions facing contemporary jewellery will explore how creativity can challenge social norms and find sense and meaning in an increasingly complex political, social and environmental climate.
Their work draws inspiration from the flows of nature and identity, blending these with opportunities for hybrid-making and co-creation with technology or living materials. By questioning functionality and social norms, they promote acts of care, well-making and sustainability in a problematic world.
Their creative outputs materialise multiple dynamic relational issues, exploring the possibilities presented by the body, the (im)material, the digital, crafted and grown by hands and machines.
