Annual Indoor Christmas Fair with bespoke items made by RCA Students, Alumni and Local Community members.
Established in 2012, the Royal College of Art Christmas Fête is a traditional indoor Christmas market organised by the Royal College of Art Students’ Union (RCASU).
The fête is to showcase the imaginative and distinctive talents of the RCA to the broader community within a festive and inviting ambience. Consistent with the tradition of events organized by the RCASU, students take centre stage during this occasion. Our attendees traditionally encompass the friends and family of students, along with the esteemed staff and alumni of the RCA. Moreover, we draw a significant number of local residents and visitors to the South Kensington area during the holiday season.
The Fête has been extremely successful in attracting attention from the media, the general public and within the college. In 2022, the Fête raised over £30,000 in sales for the students who took part, raising valuable funds for their projects. The biggest advantage of the event is that the public gets a chance to meet up-and-coming artists, speak to them about their products and ideas, and contribute directly to the continuation of their practices.
The Christmas Fête aims to showcase the creative and unique talents of the RCA to the wider community in a welcoming atmosphere. As with any event organised by the RCASU, students are at the centre of the occasion. Stallholders will earn 100% of the sales that they make.
