The wasteCOLLECTION Residency Exhibition showcases the visionary outcomes of a collaborative initiative between the RCA School of Architecture, Legal & General, and the New Acres development.

Over the past six months, RCA alumni have delved into the untapped potential of construction waste, transforming it into functional art and design pieces that challenge conventional notions of sustainability.

Set in the vibrant community of Wandsworth, this exhibition offers a unique opportunity to witness how often-overlooked waste materials can be reimagined as valuable resources. Through a mix of experimental art installations and practical design solutions, the participants have created works that not only contribute to the dialogue on the circular economy but also highlight the cultural richness of the local area.

The exhibition is hosted at The NEX, a community space in the New Acres development that features a coffee shop / bar, co-working spaces, and the RCA’s superSATELLITE studio for innovative research and teaching practices. For more information, visit The Nex website and follow us on Instagram at @supersatellite.rca.

During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a diverse array of artworks, installations and objects that highlight innovative approaches to sustainability and circular design. Each artist will present a Pecha Kucha-style talk, offering a glimpse into their creative process, the challenges they faced, and the ideas that drove their work.

Whether you are passionate about sustainability, intrigued by innovative design, or simply curious about the future of urban development, this event promises to provide insightful perspectives and thought-provoking conversations. Don’t miss this chance to engage with the artists, industry experts, and community members as we celebrate the intersection of creativity and sustainability.
