The Royal College of Art - the world’s leading art and design university - has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Architecture and Design Commission, one of 11 commissions under the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The MOU aims for cooperation between the two countries in the field of Architecture and Design, in potential areas including faculty training, short courses, workshops, executive education, incubators, accelerators, competitions and awards. It also opens the way for future discussions in areas such as exchanges, training programmes, capacity building and participation in events.

Professor Christoph Lindner, President & Vice-Chancellor of the Royal College of Art said: “We are delighted to be working with the Architecture and Design Commission in their important role of supporting Saudi architects and designers, and celebrating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s rich architectural heritage. As a global university, cultural exchange and partnerships are an important part of creating a diverse community of knowledge and perspectives, and we look forward to many exciting outcomes from this agreement.”

The Architecture and Design Commission aims to develop the sector, support practitioners in the field, and build an Architectural and Design scene that mirrors the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s rich and diverse culture while keeping up with global practices.
