Last week RCA Executive Education and London & Partners welcomed senior innovation leaders to join it's Open Innovation Fellowship that runs twice a year for up to 20 Fellows.
The companies include: Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Ashurst, British Red Cross, BP, Capita, IQEQ, Kantar, Linklaters, McDonalds, Microsoft, MotMac, Novartis, Openreach, ScottishPower, Thales and Wipro.
The RCA’s Dr Nick de Leon is the academic lead, supporting fellows to work together in teams on open innovation challenge projects briefs:
Management Systems: creating clear goals, ensuring alignment of innovation strategy with business strategy and its effective communication, measurement and key metrics for innovation, accountability of functions through scorecards and incorporating into management reviews.
Culture: Developing Talent and capacity building, nurturing and creating networks within and outside, addressing cultural change required to open up blue-sky thinking, engage customers/beneficiaries, disseminating and incentivising change.
Operations: Operationalising the OI strategy through programmes (e.g. Calls), processes, people, platforms and infrastructure (e.g. Ideas Labs), that directly support innovation projects and engage with customer/beneficiaries and internal/external networks.
Senior innovation leaders can access forty hours of content delivered across three months to develop their strategic approach to open innovation, build their peer network and deepen their understanding of London’s ecosystem. Fellows demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and inclusion, both within their organisations and in the wider community.
