Royal College of Art announces Rebecca Preston as new Director of Development and Alumni Relations

The Royal College of Art (RCA) has announced the appointment of Rebecca Preston as its new Director of Development and Alumni Relations, joining in late September 2023.

Rebecca joins the RCA from the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she spent nearly a decade as Development Director. Her work during that time included completing the funding of three capital campaigns across the RSC’s campus in Stratford-upon-Avon; maintaining relationships with private and public funders and corporate supporters; steering fundraising during the pandemic, finding new investment and partners for the RSC’s innovative digital work and establishing long term funding for the RSC’s national learning work in schools.

Prior to her time at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Rebecca worked at the Southbank Centre for 10 years as both Head of Development and Director of Development; other previous roles included positions at the Royal Court Theatre, the Terrence Higgins Trust and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA). Volunteer leadership positions include Vice Chair at Theatre Peckham.
