This expansion in distance learning activities means that participants can now join our esteemed academics from anywhere in the world. The courses reflect the RCA experience with small class sizes, rich interaction between students and academics, enhanced peer-to-peer networking and a certificate of achievement, and are aimed at professionals or students applying to the RCA’s MA programmes.

Courses start from June 2021:

Co-Designing Innovation will provide skills and tools to devise and facilitate co-design workshops to transform your organisation. The course is relevant for anyone looking to meaningfully engage with stakeholders, audiences or customers to create organisational change, or develop insightful products or services. The online course is led by Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad, a distinguished designer and academic from our MA Design Products programme.

The Empathetic Engineer explores how to blend science and technology with society and culture, to ensure a more empathetic and creative design process. Led by Dr Nick de Leon, founder of the RCA's renowned Service Design MA, Rama Gheerawo from the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, Savina Torrisi from Innovation Design Engineering and Dr John Stevens from Global Innovation Design.

Unleashing Innovation gives an unrivalled opportunity for anyone looking to start or expand their business, from innovation leaders to entrepreneurs and disruptors. The course, developed by Dr Nick de Leon, will give you the tools to turn your concept into a successful business venture and to execute plans at scale and speed.

“The rise of empathy is unstoppable. It is a potent part of being a creative, designer, engineer and leader. It is a skill we should all cultivate.”

Rama Gheerawo Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design

“We are in an era of dramatic change, at the threshold of a very different world. Organisations need to harness the power of innovation to cross that threshold and prosper. Whether you are an innovation leader in an established company or creating a new business venture to commercialise your innovation, these courses will help you achieve that goal.”

Dr Nick de Leon Executive Education and Knowledge Exchange Lead, School of Design
