RCA graphic design and illustration archives

A really interesting aspect of the summer school is access to the graphic design and illustration archives, dating back over 50 years and featuring student work by well-known alumni such as Alan Fletcher and Jonathan Barnbrook. During the course, the archivist Richard Doust is invited to deliver a session for participants, giving an insight into this incredible history and access to an amazing repository of artefacts.

Associate Lecturer

Adrian Shaughnessy is a self-taught graphic designer. In 1989 he co-founded the design group Intro. Under his creative leadership the studio won numerous awards, and at the turn of century employed 40 people. Intro was an early adopter of digital technology and a pioneer of digital motion graphics.

Astrid Stavro is an internationally-renowned graphic designer with a reputation for strong concept-driven design which is succinct, emotionally engaging, with the emphasis placed on exquisite typography and craft. She is a Visiting Lecturer at the RCA.
